These AirPort card adapters are required in order to use an AirPort card with G3-based, slot-loading, AirPort-ready iMacs. Other Macs, such as iBooks, PowerMacs, and PowerBooks as well as newer G4 or G5-based iMacs, do not require this Adapter kit. All adapters are refurbished, but fully tested, and include a three month warranty.

AirPort Card Adapter: A G3-based, slot-loading, AirPort-ready iMac. Certain G3-based iMacs are not AirPort ready and also are not compatible with the AirPort Card Adapter or AirPort Card. These include any tray-loading iMac G3 and the 350Mhz G3 Indigo slot-loading iMac introduced in Summer 2000.

Q: How do I get the AirPort icon to show in my menu bar?
A: Open the Network System Preferences Pane and choose 'Show: Network Port Configurations'. Make sure AirPort is checked - if it is unavailable, try re-inserting your 11g card. Then choose 'Show: AirPort' and choose the AirPort sub-pane. At the bottom of this pane is a checkbox that says 'Show AirPort Status in Menu Bar'. Check this box and the icon will appear in your menu bar.
