Q: How do I get the AirPort icon to show in my menu bar?
A: Open the Network System Preferences Pane and choose 'Show: Network Port Configurations'. Make sure AirPort is checked - if it is unavailable, try re-inserting your 11g card. Then choose 'Show: AirPort' and choose the AirPort sub-pane. At the bottom of this pane is a checkbox that says 'Show AirPort Status in Menu Bar'. Check this box and the icon will appear in your menu bar.
Q: What is the difference between the 11g PCI Card rev. A and the 11g PCI Card rev. C?
A: Functionally, they are very much the same. Both operate at up to 54 Mbps, both use the AirPort drivers built in to OS X, and both require an available PCI slot. The difference is that each card needs a different minimum version of OS X and AirPort software to run. The 11g PCI Card rev. C requires at least OS X 10.3.3 and Airport version 4.2, while the 11g PCI Card rev. A can be used on machines with at least OS X 10.2.6 and AirPort version 3.1 installed.
